Geneva (VNA)– Vietnam, together with Bangladesh and the Philippines, will deliver a draftsolution on women’s rights amidst climate change at the 38th session of theUnited Nations Human Rights Council that opened in Geneva, Switzerland on June 18.
Vietnamese AmbassadorDuong Chi Dung, head of the Vietnam Permanent Mission to the UN, the WTO andother international organisations in Geneva, is leading the Vietnamesedelegation to the session.
The event, which runsthrough July 6, draws representatives from 47 member countries and more than100 observer countries as well as international and non-governmentalorganisations.
Along with a dialoguewith the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, participants will discuss awide range of issues including women’s rights, rights to health and educationservices, human trafficking, and migration.
They will consider 65reports from UN institutions on human rights, while holding thematic discussions.
Participants arescheduled to approve the final Universal Periodic Review reports of 14countries.
More than 30 draftresolutions on diverse matters related to human rights will be introduced by memberstates for consideration, debate and approval.
