Seoul (VNA) – Vice Chairman of theCommission for External Relations of the Party’s Central Committee Tran Dac Loirepresented Vietnam at the 28th Standing Committee Meetings of theInternational Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Seoul, theRepublic of Korea from July 7-9.

Loi also led the Vietnamese delegation tothe third Meeting of the ICAPP Media Forum and the first Meeting of Asia-EuropePolitical Forum held alongside the ICAPP Standing Committee meetings.

At the meetings, political leaders andrepresentatives from Asian and European countries discussed global and regionalissues, focusing talks on Asia-Europe connectivity, climate change and populismand the role of the media in politics.

They underscored the importance of enhancedcooperation between countries and political parties to cope with commonchallenges, particularly terrorism, conflicts, poverty and climate change, forpeace, stability, prosperity and sustainable development.

The ICAPP Media Forum and Asia-EuropePolitical Forum adopted joint declarations while the ICAPP Standing Committeeapproved its working programmes and elected members for the committee.

The Vietnamese delegation took the occasionto meet with representatives from other parties and senior officials at theRoK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and politicians from the Democratic Party ofKorea and Liberty Korea Party to discuss ways to improve Vietnam-RoKcooperation this year, with the two countries celebrating 25 years ofdiplomatic ties.-VNA
