Hanoi (VNA) – Low-cost carrierVietjet Air will operate 2,500 additional flights to serve passengers duringthe upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays and the 2019 festive season, offeringover 500,000 tickets to customers.
As scheduled, from January 20 to February 19– or the 15th day of the last lunar month of 2018 and the 15th day of firstlunar month of 2019 – Vietjet Air will operate 12,500 flights in total, includingmore than 4,000 international trips, up over 20 percent year-on-year.
A representative from the airline said thatVietjet Air and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam have concluded the supervisionof aviation safety to ensure safe flights for passengers.
VietjetAir is a fully-fledged member of the International Air Transport Association(IATA) with an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate. Vietjet wasnamed “Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline 2018-2019” and awarded the highest rankingfor safety with seven-stars in 2018 by the world’s only safety and productrating website, AirlineRatings.com. The airline has been also listed on theworld’s 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by AirfinanceJournal in 2018.
Currently,Vietjet Air operates 60 A320 and A321 aircraft, with more than 385 flightsdaily. It has carried more than 65 million passengers to date over 105 routescovering destinations across Vietnam and around the world, including Japan,Hong Kong, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Myanmar,Malaysia, and Cambodia.
The airline has plans to expand its flightnetwork across the Asia-Pacific region and has signed contracts to buynew-generation aircraft from prestigious global plane manufacturers.–VNA
