Vietjet Air launches third route to Japan

New-age carrier Vietjet launched a service connecting Hanoi and Tokyo, Japan, on January 11.

Hanoi (VNA) - New-age carrierVietjet Air launched a service connecting Hanoi and Tokyo, Japan, on January 11.

This is the carrier’s third route between Vietnam and Japan, aiming to not onlymeet the rising demand for air travel, but also contribute to the developmentof tourism, trade and cultural exchange between the two countries, Vietjet saidin a statement.

The launch of this new route offers a new travel option for people andtravellers from Tokyo, and the Kanto region in general, to Hanoi, the capitalcity of Vietnam, from where they have easy access to many famous destinationsin the country, said Do Xuan Quang, Vietjet’s Vice President.

He added that the people from the two countries and international tourists canalso effortlessly transit to other ASEAN countries or destinations across theNorth Asia region with Vietjet’s comprehensive and constantly expanding flightnetwork.

The Hanoi -Tokyo route operates daily return flights with a flight time ofaround six hours per leg.

Previously, Vietjet launched two direct routes to Japan, including Hanoi - Osakaon November 8, 2018 and Ho Chi Minh City - Osaka on December 14, 2018.

For the newest route, Vietjet and Japan Airlines have cooperated to offer acode-share flight service. The two airlines’ code-share service is also appliedto Vietjet’s domestic routes, including Hanoi-HCM City, Hanoi–Da Nang and HCMCity–Da Nang.

Vietjet is the first airline in Vietnam to operate as a new-age airline offeringflexibly-saving ticket fares and diversified services to meet customers’demands. It provides not only transport services but also uses the lateste-commerce technologies to offer various products and services forconsumers. 

Vietjet is a fully-fledged member of International Air Transport Association(IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate. Vietjet wasnamed “Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline 2018 - 2019” and warded the highest rankingfor safety with 7-stars in 2018 by the world’s only safety and product ratingwebsite AirlineRatings.com. The airline has been also listed in the world's 50best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal in2018.

Currently, Vietjet operates 60 A320, A321 aircraft with more than 385 flightsdaily, carrying more than 65 million passengers to date, with 105 routescovering destinations across Vietnam and international destinations such asJapan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), mainlandChina, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia.

The airline has plans to expand its flight network across the Asia-Pacificregion and has signed contracts to buy new-generation aircraft from prestigiousglobal plane manufacturers.-VNA
