Addressingthe launching ceremony on January 14, Chief Judge of the SupremePeople's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh said the installation of the video teleconference at district-level people’s courts complieswith the Party’s orientation to reduce national-scale conferences and increasethe application of information and communication technology (ICT) in holdingonline conferences in instructing, managing and handling public affairs.
Theproject aims to develop an e-court system to ensure transparent and publicoperation of courts at all levels to better serve people and relevant bodies,Binh added.
Thevideo teleconference network, installed at provincial-level people’s courts in63 provinces and cities across the nation in 2014, has proven to be effective.
In2016, the network was developed at the Central Military Court and 710district-level people’s courts nationwide to improve their efficiency andperformance.
Ministerof Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan spoke highly of the recentICT application in the sector, saying that this has created a favourableenvironment for local people.
Thelaunch of websites and the video teleconference network have helped updateinformation and improve the efficiency of the sector, while saving time, costsand meeting the requirement of administrative reform, the minister said.-VNA
