A war veteran in Vinh city, the central province of Nghe An, has spent nearly 20 years collecting photos, books and documents relating to late President Ho Chi Minh. He set up a private library in commemoration of the late leader.
Visiting the library in Hung Dung district, Vinh city, visitors are surprised to see hundreds of photos of President Ho Chi Minh, collected by a 76-year-old Ta Quang Loc.
Loc served in the army from 1968 to 1972.
The wounded veteran started to collect documentaries relating to the late President in 1990.
Up to 860 photos and 800 books have been collected so far.
Ta Quang Loc, resident in Hung Dung district, Vinh city, Nghe An province: "I did the collection as I want to show my respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, who I adored much. I want many people, especially the youth, to understand more about morality and lifestyle of Uncle Ho."
Loc has spent a lot of time catergorising the documents following timelines.
He also acts as a guide for visitors who come to visit the library.
Ta Quang Loc, resident in Hung Dung district, Vinh city, Nghe An province: "Many people visit the library, especially during Uncle Ho’s birthday, May 19, and the Independence Day, Sept. 2. They have a chance to learn more about the late President’s revolutionary career, his morality and lifestyle and follow his example."
Nguyen Nhu Trung, resident in Hung Dung district, Vinh city, Nghe An province: "Speaking with Loc, I feel how he admired our beloved Uncle Ho. The photos and documents he has collected so far have helped us a lot in understanding President Ho Chi Minh’s morality. We will try our best to follow Uncle Ho’s great example."
Loc is also a social activity enthusiast in his residential area. The veteran always encourages other people to participate in building new-style rural area and leading a civilized lifestyle.-VNA
