Hanoi (VNA) – The United States continues placing anti-dumpingduties against imports of frozen “tra”and “basa” fish fillets from Vietnam, ranging from 0.69 – 2.39 USD per kilo.

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has recently issued the final resultsof the 12th administrative review of the antidumping duty order (POR12)on certain frozen fish fillets from Vietnam for the period from August 1, 2014to July 31, 2015.

The preliminary results had been published in September 2016, givinginterested parties an opportunity to comment before the department issued itsfinal order.

Four Vietnamese fish exporters were entitled the separate rate statusfor voluntary respondents, including Cuu Long Fish Joint Stock Company, GODACOSeafood JSC, Green Farms Seafood JSC, and NTSF Seafoods JSC. Accordingly, theywill be imposed a weighted-average dumping margin of 0.69 USD per kilo.

The DOC outlined three other companies that have no reviewabletransactions during the POR and therefore, their future shipments, if any, willbe subject to higher Vietnam-wide entity rate of 2.39 USD per kilo.

The wide rate will also be applied for two others as they did not submitseparate-rate certifications or applications to the DOC.

The department intends to issue appropriate instructions directly to theUS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) 15 days after publication of the finalresults of the administrative review, according to the Vietnam CompetitionAuthority at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

For assessment purposes, it calculated importer (or customer)-specificassessment rates for merchandise subject to the review. It will continue todirect CBP to assess importer-specific assessment rates based on the resultingper-unit rates by the weight in kilogrammes of each entry of the subjectmerchandise during the POR.-VNA
