Hanoi (VNA) – Nha Trang received TripAdvisor’s “Destinations on the Rise – Asia” award for its growth in ratings and international recognition it received from online travel communities, according to a recent press release from the Nha Trang Destination Marketing Organization (NTDMO).

Less than one percent of accommodation businesses on the TripAdvisor website have received this distinction, the NTDMO representative said.

The award winners include An Lam Ninh Van Bay Villas, Mia Resort Nha Trang, InterContinental Nha Trang, Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and Amiana Resort.

“From the recognition and rating by online travellers around the world from 2014 to 2015, the ‘Destinations on The Rise’ award by TripAdvisor represents a significant achievement by tourism entities that offer accommodation, dining, entertainment and shopping in destinations around the world,” said Aaron Hung, vice president of Partnership of TripAdvisor Asia Pacific at the award ceremony on March 14.

“Vietnam is an ongoing popular name to travel communities, especially Hanoi, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City and now Nha Trang with its rich history, diverse culture, mesmerising scenery and heart-warming hospitality has earned its spotlight in the heart of world travellers,” he added.

During the award ceremony, the Nha Trang Destination Marketing Organization was officially introduced to the public.

The organisation is a non-profit group of hospitality businesses in Nha Trang, which is committed to developing and marketing Nha Trang as a premier tourism destination of choice in both local and international markets.

Officially announced on December last year, Nha Trang ranked eighth out of 10 winning destinations in Asia by international travel communities on TripAdvisor’s website.

On January 2016, TripAdvisor also named Nha Trang’s hotels and resorts among the 14 Top Hotels and Luxury Hotels in Vietnam and Asia.-VNA
