Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asked domestic travel agents to increase the management of tours to Russia as Vietnamese citizens have recently been refused to enter the country by tourism visa.
On July 20, the VNAT received a diplomatic note from the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia reflecting that a number of Vietnamese tourists have been rejected as they tried to enter Russia by illegal documents such as invitation from bogus tourism companies or they could not prove their tourism purpose.
The embassy said that the refusal has caused public concern and affected Vietnamese citizens’ rights.
Vietnamese travel agents are required to choose reliable Russian partners to operate tours to the Eastern European country.
They must set up detailed programmes and book round-trip tickets while guiding their customers to corroborate their financial capacity as well as provide the phone numbers and addresses of local hotels or tourist companies as requested by Russian authority.
The VNAT also ordered travel agents to take measures to manage their customers while in Russia and remind them to abide by the host country’s law.-VNA
