This is one of the locality’s two major events in response to the Red River Delta-Hai Phong National Tourism Year 2013.
The programme will cover a wide range of activities, including adisplay of ancient and modern pottery collections, a ceremony to honourskilled artisans, a fact-finding tour of the Chu Dau ceramic joint stockcompany – the central player in promoting the Chu Dau pottery trademarkto domestic and international markets.
There will alsobe a field trip to the village and archaeological relic sites in NamSach district and a contest on the history of Chu Dau pottery.
Chu Dau pottery became well known at the end of the 14 th century, andreached its peak during the 15 th and 16 th centuries. Chu Dauceramics not only inherited the quintessence of pottery making duringthe Ly-Tran dynasties, but developed into a form of pottery thatfeatured beautiful patterns and bright enamel.
In 1992, the Chu Dau archaeological site was recognised as a national relic site.-VNA
