Hanoi (VNA) – Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi KimNgan on November 5 received a delegation from Japan’s Gunma prefecture, led by itsGovernor Ichita Yamamoto.
Ngan congratulated the people of Japan on entering the Reiwa era of EmperorNaruhito and Yamamoto on his new role as the Governor of Gunma prefecture,while hailing the establishment of the Gunma-Vietnam friendship parliamentariansgroup.
The top legislator stressed Gunma and Vietnamese localities are enjoying soundrelations, adding there are some 4,000 Vietnamese workers and students in theJapanese prefecture.
Yamamoto lauded the contributions made by Vietnamesepeople in Gunma, which, he said also help bolster cooperative ties betweenVietnam and Gunma, as well as promote socio-economic development in the host locality.
The administration of Gunma prefecture pledges to create the best conditionsfor Vietnamese apprentices, he said, highlighting the move is part of theMemoranda of Understanding inked between Gunma and the Vietnamese Ministry ofPlanning and Investment.
Ngan lauded the cooperation, describing it as an important way to handle theshortage of skilled workers in Japan and help Vietnamese guest workers improvecapacity and income.
Speaking highly of Gunma enterprises who are operating or seeking investmentopportunities in Vietnam, she expressed her hope that Yamamoto and the Gunmaauthorities will endorse the firms to do business in the nation.
The Japanese governor said that his prefecture will arrange a visit to Vietnamfor a larger-scale business delegation to study investment and cooperationopportunities in the country, and affirmed that in his role, he will continue effortsto enhance cooperative relations between Gunma and Vietnamese localities aswell as Japan and Vietnam as a whole.
He took the occasion to extend his deepest condolences to Vietnam and itspeople as he knew the lorry tragedy in the UK involved Vietnamese citizens./.
