Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterPham Binh Minh received a delegation from Japan’s Gunma Prefecture led byGovernor Ichita Yamamoto in Hanoi on November 5.
At the reception, Deputy PM Minh stressed that Vietnam treasures theties with Japan which is a reliable, important and long-term partner and sharesmany strategic interests with Vietnam. He said Vietnam supports Japan’s internationalrole in the region and the world.
Minh took the occasion to appreciate Japan’s support of Vietnam’s stanceon the East Sea issue.
He asked Gunma prefecture to receive more Vietnamese trainees andworkers, and encourage Gunma-based companies to invest in Vietnam. There aremore than 4,000 Vietnamese trainees working in Gunma at present, while 12 companiesfrom the Japanese prefecture are running investment projects in Vietnam.
Governor Yamamoto affirmed that he will continue to work to facilitate thereception of Vietnamese trainees.
He stressed that the foreigner community in general and the Vietnamese communityin particular have become an important part in Gunma’s socio-economicdevelopment.
He also pledged to encourage local firms to invest in Vietnam./.
