ThuaThien-Hue (VNA) – The three central localities - Da Nang City, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam - will work together to revive tourism, one of the sectors most affectedby the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under a dealsigned in Hue city, ThuaThien-Hue on May30, the three localities agreedto together boost tourism after the pandemic by strengthening linkages and cooperation in the industry andpromoting strengths of each locality.
ThuaThien-Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam plan to adopt more preferential policies toeffectively implement the joint tourism stimulus programme which seeks topromote themselves as safe and friendly destinations among visitors.
They alsocommitted to offering good deals and discounts to tourists and travel agencies whileconnecting their own products to develop a regional chain of tourism servicesand advertise them on local and central media channels.
Speaking atthe signing event, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of TourismNguyen Trung Khanh said the joint tourism recovery programme is responding wellto Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s order to boost domestic travel and theprogramme “Vietnamese people travel Vietnam” initiated by the Minsitry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism to adapt to the “new normal” after the coronavirusis brought under control.
This movedemonstrates determination of local leaders to boost tourism in not only central Vietnam but alsothroughout the country, he added.
Khanh urged tourismassociations and travel companies to closely cooperate to translate theprogramme into reality and create new exciting products for holiday-makers.
The threelocalities are renowned for the world’s most beautiful beaches and culturalheritages, such as the HueMonuments Complex, Hue Royal Court Music, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary.
Last year,they welcomed a total of over 10.9 million domestic visitors and 10.37 millionforeign travellers./.
