Hanoi (VNA) – Thousands of overseas Vietnamese have registered to participatein the annual “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) 2018, said Deputy ForeignMinister and Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Vu HongNam.
Theevent, themed “Vietnam with bright future”, is scheduled to take place in Hanoion February 7 (the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month).
ManyVietnamese artists in foreign countries will perform at the event alongsidedomestic artists, Nam added.
“In each of our overseas business trips, we have sensed the OverseasVietnamese’s confidence in the development of the homeland as well as theirpride of the homeland’s growing role and position in the world arena,” he said.
“This year’s theme meets the Overseas Vietnamese’s aspirations for Vietnam tobuild a bright future and these expats showed they stand ready to join hands inbuilding a bright future for the homeland,” he noted.
There are approximately 4.5 million Vietnamese livingand working in 103 countries and territories worldwide. They form anindispensable part of the nation and play an important role in intensifyingfriendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
Theannual “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) is aimed at providing a platform forVietnamese expats to share their aspirations and thoughts and honouring thosewho have contributed to the homeland’s development.-VNA
