The solar panels of BMT power farm are set up at the foot of Krong Buk Ha dam (Photo: VNA)Dak Lak (VNA) – The BMTsolar power farm in Krong Pak district, Dak Lak province, was inaugurated onApril 25, becoming the third solar power plant in the Central Highlandsprovince to generate electricity for the national grid.
According to BMT Energy RenewableJSC, the investor of the farm, the facility, built at a cost of 617 billion VND(around 26.44 million USD) has a capacity of 30 MWp. It is expected to supplymore than 44 MWh of electricity to the national grid each year.
The farm, which is at the footof Krong Buk Ha dam, also serves as a tourist destination.
The company said it isconducting surveys for a wind power farm in Cu M’gar district, with anestimated investment of more than 200 million USD.
Pham Thai, Director of the provincialDepartment of Industry and Trade, said investors have proposed a total of 32solar power projects in Dak Lak.
Besides the BMT farm in KrongPak, several other solar power plants with total capacity of nearly 700 MWpwill be put into operation at between 50 to 100 percent of capacity this year.
In March this year, the Srepok 1– Quang Minh solar power complex with a combined capacity of 100 MWp was commissionedin Buon Don district. The complex had total investment of 2.2 trillion VND(94.27 million USD).-VNA
