Hanoi (VNA) - The Thai consumerconfidence index fell to 73.9 in July, the lowest level in the last sevenmonths.
According to a report from the Centre forEconomic Forecast under the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, theEconomic Confidence Index also declined to 62.2, from 63.3, while theemployment confidence index dropped to 69.1 from 70 in June.
There was a slight increase in agriculturalproduct prices, while purchasing power of Thai people remained low.
The revenue confidence index also fell to 90.4from 91.5.
The report blamed the decline on historic floodsin the northeast of the nation and suggested the government to increase publicexpenditure to stimulate the economy.-VNA
