Bangkok (VNA) – Small- and medium-sized enterprises of Thailandcontributed five percent of the nation’s gross domestic products (GDP) in thefirst quarter of this year, up 3.2 percent year on year.
The figure was released in the recent joint report of the Office of SMEsPromotion (OSMEP) and the Chamber of Commerce of Thailand.
According to the report, the two agencies have provided support for over 700SMEs via a series of programmes to enhance their competence.
The programmes aim to strengthen the young entrepreneurs and improve SMEs to bewell-prepared for the ASEAN Economic Community.
OSMEP targets to help SMEs contribute 50 percent of the nation’s GDP in2021.-VNA
