Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand always attaches importance to promotingtourism and sport cooperation with Vietnam, Thai Minister of Tourism and SportsPhiphat Ratchakitprakarn recently told Vietnamese Ambassador to the countryPhan Chi Thanh.

Ambassador Thanh said that in the fields, the two countries have maintained close connectivity through bilateralcooperation and multilateral mechanisms such as ASEAN Tourism Forum, ASEANTourism Ministers’ Meeting, and APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting.

He proposed the Thai minister share his country’s experiencesin tourism recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, boost cooperation in formingculture tourism routes linking the two nations, and promote investment inservices and infrastructure in Vietnam as well as the building of a jointaction programme on collaboration in this field.

Minister Phiphat congratulated Vietnam on implementing aneffective reopening roadmap, given the resumption of international air routeswith over 20 countries, including Thailand.

Agreeing with Thanh’s proposals, he affirmed that he alwayssupports the training and exchange of sport experts to help improve athletes’knowledge and skills, and assists Vietnam at all tourism cooperation forums inthe region in particular and in the world at large.

He also asked the Vietnamese diplomat to continue workingwith Thai agencies to promote bilateral cooperation activities in these twoaspects./.
