Vietnam, Thailand beef up bilateral cooperation

Bangkok(VNA) – Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam hosted a reception inBangkok on March 29 for Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh.

The meeting aimed tofurther promote bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, justice, cultureand education.

Expressing hisdelight at the development of Vietnam-Thailand ties, especially in trade andinvestment, Wissanu wished that the Vietnamese Government would createfavourable conditions for Thai corporations and enterprises to do business inVietnam.

Hehighlighted the contributions of the Thai community of Vietnamese origin inThailand, especially those in the northeast where the majority ofVietnamese-Thai people are living, to the development of the host country.

Thehost hailed the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand for beefing up collaborationamong the two countries’ ministries and agencies. He wished that embassy wouldcontinue serving as an important bridge in bilateral cooperative relationship inthe future.

Thanh, for his part,affirmed that Thailand and Vietnam are top important economic partners of eachother. He wished that the Thai Government would continue offering all possible supportto the Vietnamese community in Thailand, contributing to the local socio-economic development as well as friendship and cooperation between thetwo nations.

Regardingjudicial and education cooperation, the diplomat suggested the two justiceministries continue stepping up negotiations for the early signing of new judicialagreements, effectively implement the judicial assistance agreement in civilaffairs signed in November 2022, as well as support the teaching and learningof Vietnamese and Thai languages in each country, and boost coordination betweenVietnamese and Thai universities./.
