Binh Duong (VNA) – Several Taiwanese firms (China) plan to explore investmentopportunities in the southern province of Binh Duong, according to a Taiwaneseofficial.
During a meetingwith the provincial People’s Committee on November 21, Guo You Ting, Head ofthe Association of Taiwanese Enterprises hailed the improved local investmentclimate, saying Binh Duong is an attractive destination for foreign investors.
Speaking at theevent, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee laudedthe projects and contribution of Taiwanese firms and the association in localsocio-economic development.
He updated hisguests on the province’s investment attraction plans and its measures toimprove the business climate, thus creating optimal conditions for enterprises.
He expressed hishope that more Taiwanese companies will invest in the province.
According to Liem,Taiwan is the province’s biggest investor, with 772 projects, worth more than5.5 billion USD.
Construction of aTaiwanese factory producing polyester will begin on November 24 on nearly 200hectares in Bau Bang Industrial Park, Liem said.
According to LiangGuang Zhong, Head of the Taipei Economic and Culture Office in HCM City, Taiwanis willing to work with the locality in implementing projects using officialdevelopment assistance on flood prevention and waste treatment.-VNA
