Hanoi(VNA) – The Indonesian Embassy together with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam(DAV) held a seminar on Vietnam-Indonesia cooperation in Hanoi on December 19.
In his openingspeech, Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi said the seminar aimed toreview bilateral ties, challenges facing the two countries and the role ofregional organisations in developing their cooperation.
DAV DeputyDirector Le Hai Binh highlighted a visit to Indonesia by General Secretary ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong in Augustthis year, saying it helped reinforce the strategic partnership between the twocountries and promote new development steps in bilateral relations.
Vietnam-Indonesiatrade increased to 5.6 billion USD in 2016 from 4.6 billion USD in 2012, withgrowth averaging five percent yearly. The two nations aim to reach 10 billionUSD in bilateral trade in 2018.-VNA
