Bucharest(VNA) – Vard shipyard in Tulcea region of Romania plans to recruit 300Vietnamese welders and ironworkers to strengthen its personnel amidst abundantorders.

General Director ofthe firm Vard Tudorel Topa said that the shipyard is suffering severe shortageof human resources, but it failed to recruit local workers.

In the first phase ofits recruitment plan, it is interested in employing 300 Vietnamese workers, hesaid.

Vard is one of theimportant shipyards in Romania and the largest of its kind in Tulcera. Many skilledworkers have left the facility for other European countries like Germany andthe UK where they can earn about 2,000-3,000 EUR per month compared to onlyabout 670 EUR per month in Romania.-VNA
