The RoK's diplomacy in Asia has been more toward Japan, China and Russia, hesaid at a business forum in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 9, adding that thepolicy should be expanded and Indonesia is a promising country.
Explaining the new policy, an advisor of the President said that its mainobjective is to build a win-win partnership with 10 ASEAN member countries forpeople’s interest, common prosperity and peace. In the Southeast Asia, thepolicy focuses on development and economic issues.
The new policy was designed in the context that the RoK is seeking to reduceindependence on traditional partners such as China and the US. President Moonfirst mentioned the policy during the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia inSeptember, targeting stronger cooperation with China, Japan, Russia andMongolia.-VNA
