Reference exchange rate down 5 VND at week’s beginning

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank ofVietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,196 VND per USD on October 19, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week (October 16).

With the currenttrading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banksduring the day is 23,891 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,501 VND/USD.

 The opening hour rates at most commercialbanks stayed stable.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed thebuying rate at 23,060 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,270 VND/USD, bothunchanged from October 16.

BIDV also kept bothrates unchanged at 23,090 VND/USD (buying) and 23,270 VND/USD (selling).

Techcombank added 2 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,069VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,269 VND/USD.

During the week from October 12 to 16, the daily reference exchange ratewas adjusted down on Monday and Thursday, and up on the remaining days. Itended the week up 8 VND.

The rates listed at commercial banks remained stable throughout theweek./.
