Reference exchange down 11 VND after New Year holiday

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,134 VND/USD on January 4, down 11 VND from the rate on the last day before the New Year holiday (December 31).

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 23,134 VND/USD on January 4, down 11 VND from the rate on thelast day before the New Year holiday (December 31).

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable tocommercial banks during the day is 23,828 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,439VND/USD.

Theopening-hour rates at commercial banks saw decreases.

At 8:20 am, BIDVlisted the buying rate at 22,665 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,945VND/USD,both down 15 VND from December 31.

Vietcombankkept both rates unchanged, listing the buying rate at 22,610 VND/USD and theselling rate at 22,920 VND/USD./.
