Quang Binh (VNA) – The central provinceof Quang Binh hopes to grant investment licences to and sign commitments toimplementing many important projects with a total investment capital of up to 4billion USD during an upcoming investment promotion conference.

The information was revealed at a press conference introducing the conferenceheld in Dong Hoi city on June 29.

Accordingly, there will be a wide range of activities, including an investmentpromotion event in Singapore on July 5-8, a seminar on cooperation indeveloping tourism and connecting world heritages in Vietnam, and an officialinvestment promotion conference on July 22.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung said during theconference, the province will release a list of 48 important projects in suchareas as tourism, trade and services, eco-resort, agriculture, industry,health, education and infrastructure to call for investment between now and2020.

Among those are a 400ha coastal tourism and resort complex in Quang Trachdistrict with a total investment of over 1 trillion VND, a 3 trillion VNDproject to grow herbal and fruit trees in Le Thuy district, and a 5 trillionVND auto assembling plant.

The official hoped that through the event, investors will seepotential and opportunities in the province and recognise it as an attractivedestination of domestic and foreign businesses.

Earlier, at an investment promotion event in the Philippines on June 8-12 aspart of the conference, Quang Binh signed two memoranda of understanding withAC Energy, Inc and B&T Windfarm Company on developing wind and solar powerfarms with a total investment of nearly 500 million USD. The farms will have acombined capacity of 352 MW.-VNA
