Quang Binh attracts 14 investment projects in five months

The central coastal province of Quang Binh has attracted 14 investment projects with nearly 3 trillion VND (129 million USD) in total capital into its industrial parks and economic zones so far this year.

Quang Binh,  (VNA) – The central coastal province of Quang Binhhas attracted 14 investment projects with nearly 3 trillion VND (129 millionUSD) in total capital into its industrial parks and economic zones so far thisyear.

With the new comers, the aggregate number of investment projects in theprovince’s IPs and EZs to 105 with combined value of nearly 50 trillion VND(2.15 billion USD). Among them there are five foreign invested projects worth atotal more than 30 million USD.

The province has increased investment promotion over the past time, organisingseveral events both in and outside the country.

The local authorities have built a data base on local advantages, potentialand needs, and announced its extra support for investors besides those stipulatedby law, such as help in procedures for investment and construction.

The provincial administration constantly reviews administrativeprocedures with a view to improving services for investors and localcompetitiveness.  

During the past three years, IPs and EZs in Quang Binh generate an averageindustrial production value of 3 trillion VND a year and earn nearly 1.5trillion VND in export value.  They alsocreate jobs for 5,000 workers with average monthly income of 5.2 million VND (223USD).

Quang Binh has approved a list of 48 projects calling for investment forthe 2018-2020 period, with an expected amount of up to over 50 trillion VND(2.2 billion USD).

The projects, projected to cover more than 8,000 ha of land, mainlyfocus on tourism, trade and services, industry, agriculture, education andhealth care.

Notably, 14 projects in tourism, trade and services are expected toappeal for over 37 trillion VND in investment, including coastal and ecologicaltourism and resort complexes.  These areconsidered high-value projects that will create many jobs, increase localbudget and foster tourism development in the province.

 In the field of industry, QuangBinh is calling for over 8 trillion VND in five projects on wind and solarpower, electrical and electronic production and assembly, telecommunication,lightening equipment manufacturing, and auto assembly.-VNA
