Quang Binh border force arrests Lao drug traffickers

Border guards in the central province of Quang Binh said they had captured three Lao nationals who were smuggling 24,000 methamphetamine pills into Vietnam.

 Quang Binh (VNA) – Border guards in the centralprovince of Quang Binh said they had captured three Lao nationals who weresmuggling 24,000 methamphetamine pills into Vietnam.

The border guards in collaboration with Lao Khammouaneprovince’s security force, detected suspicious behaviours of Thao Keo (30),Neeng Soong (30), Kham Phet Chang (37) on National Highway 12A at 3 pm on April11.

A search found 200 packs containing 24,000 round pills hiddenon the suspects’ motorbikes and bodies. The drugs have a street value of about1 billion VND (44,000 USD). The three were immediately arrested.

They admitted they were transporting the methamphetaminepills from Laos to sell in Vietnam.

The three men and seized drug were handed over to relevantLao agencies for further investigation.-VNA
