Hong Kong (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Hong Kong, the third leg of his official visit to China under the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang, on the morning of September 14.
He was welcomed at the Hong Kong international airport by leaders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, an honourary representative of Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, and Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau Hoang Chi Trung, among others.
During his stay, PM Phuc is scheduled to meet Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, and receive Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Government Carri Lam.
He will also attend the Vietnam-Hong Kong Business Forum, receive leaders of several major economic groups of Hong Kong and meet the staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Hong Kong and Macau.
Trade between Vietnam and Hong Kong topped 16 billion VND last year, a year-on-year increase of 16.7 percent. Hong Kong is Vietnam’s 10th largest trading partner, while the latter is the island’s ninth largest partner.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Hanoi on September 10 for the official visit to China, and for the 13th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning city.
