Addressing the launching ceremony, MoIT DeputyMinister Nguyen Minh Hong said that the stamp features lotus, Vietnam’s nationalflower, with the logo “ASEAN Post” on the top. The flower shows the culture, characteristicsand spirit of Vietnamese people, and symbolises the beauty of Vietnam, he said.
The commemorative stamp is designed by painter To MinhTrang from the VNPT.
As part of efforts to enhance public awareness of culture, history and life-styleof the ASEAN community, the ASEAN member countries agreed to issue a commonstamp every two years from 2017.
The stamp features a topic chosen by all membercountries, with the logo “ASEAN Post” and the typical image of the issuancecountry.
In 2016, Vietnamese painter Tran The Vinh won a designcontest to choose the ASEAN Post logo.-VNA
