Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse will lead ahigh-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 33rd Summit of the Associationof Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and related meetings in Singapore from November 13-15.
The tripwill be made at the invitation of PM Phuc’s counterpart, Singaporean PM LeeHsien Loong.
Founded in 1967, the ASEAN groups together Brunei, Cambodia,Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, andVietnam.
The ASEANchairmanship rotates between member states alphabetically. Singapore iscurrently the Chair of ASEAN for 2018. Thailand will officially take over thechairmanship on January 1, 2019.–VNA
