He met with President of the Frelimo Party and President ofMozambique Filipe Nyusi, Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho Rosario, and FirstDeputy Speaker of the Parliament Antonio Jose Amelia; held talks with Politburomember and Secretary General of the Frelimo Party Roque Silva; and held workingsessions with Minister of Justice, Constitutional, and Religious Affairs Abdurremane Lino de Almeida and Ministerof Transport and Communications Carlos Mesquita.
Vuong alsowitnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) and the Frelimo Party for the 2018-2022 period, a bilateraljudicial assistance agreement; and held a working session with Movitel, ajoint-venture with Vietnam’s military-run telecom provider Viettel.
During the meetings,Mozambican leaders hailed the visit as an important event in ties between thetwo parties and countries. They spoke highly of Vietnam’s stature in the regionand the world and the business efficiency of Movitel, considering it a model ofsuccessful cooperation between the two nations.
They wishedthat Vietnam would continue assisting Mozambique in national development,especially in economic growth and poverty reduction.
They asked the CPVto continue sharing its experience in Party building and personnel training.
Vuong affirmedthat the Party, State, and people of Vietnam have always treasured and want tofoster their solidarity, traditional friendship, and collaboration withMozambique. He also suggested measures to develop ties between the two partiesand nations in the near future.
Both sidesagreed that the two parties need to reinforce traditional ties via the exchangeof all-level visits; personnel training; outlining specific ways to facilitateeconomic, trade, investment, and cultural ties, especially in fields of high demandsuch as agriculture, education-training, telecommunications, and oil and gas.
The twolegislatures will strengthen the exchange of high-level visits and specialisedunits, working closely together at regional and global multilateral forums,serving as bridges to extend relations with political parties in the region. –VNA
