Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong lauded outgoing Cambodian Ambassador Hul Phany for strengthening the fine neighbourliness, traditional solidarity and friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia during a reception in Hanoi on August 3.
The host thanked the Cambodian government and people for their support for Vietnam’s national liberation in the past and its construction and defence at present.
Congratulating Cambodia on its achievements in national development, the Party chief reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of reinforcing ties with Cambodia for the sake of both people and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Phany, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, army and people for saving the Cambodian people from the genocidal regime in the past, as well as providing effective support for their current national development.
He also expressed thanks to the leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State, ministries, agencies and localities for helping him with fulfilling his assigned tasks during his six-year tenure.
The guest pledged that in any future position, he will do his best to foster traditional solidarity and friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.-VNA
