Prague (VNA) - Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam has praised organisationsand associations of Vietnamese expats in the Czech Republic for their role in andcontributions to developing the Vietnamese community and promoting Vietnam’sculture in the host country.

Nam, who is also Chairman of the State Committeefor Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV), expressed his joy at the development of theVietnamese community in the Czech Republic during working sessions with representatives fromthe Union of Vietnamese Associationsin Europe, the Vietnamese Association, and the Vietnamese Buddhist Association onthe occasion of his working visit to the country from July24-26.

Over the recent years, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has beenone of the most active with a sense of solidarity, cordiality and mutualsupport, he said, stressing that it has made positive contributions to the hostcountry as well as Vietnam.

Nam affirmed the Party and State are always attentive to the Vietnamesecommunity abroad in general and that in the Czech Republic in particular, emphasizingthat they are an integral part of the nation.

Theofficial took note of recommendations by the Vietnamese community regarding theconstruction of pagodas, development of Vietnamese language centres, and promotionof youth movement in Czech and those related to policies to attract talents.

The SCOV always assists overseasVietnamese in stabilising their lives, preserving the nation’s culturalidentities, he reaffirmed, calling on the community to continue upholding the solidarityto make it stronger.

Namalso asked the community to strictly abide by the law of the host country, and integratedeeply into the local society, as well as turn their hearts towards thehomeland.

Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minster Nam presented the SCOV’s certificateof merit to six organisations for their active contributions to building anddeveloping the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.-VNA
