IT staff often earn better salaries than other careers in Vietnam. (Photo: doanhnhansaigon)Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - More than 90 percent of IT firms in Vietnam want to hiremore staff and expand their business after the pandemic, according to thelatest report by Navigos Group.
Thereport, "The situation of IT human resources and the recruitment plan tomeet new technology", showed that only 9 percent of IT firms did not haveany recruitment plans while the rest did.
Halfof the firms said that they needed to expand their staff by between 11 and 20 percent,while a quarter needed to expand between 21 and 30 percent.
Thesurvey results stated three factors that are advantages in setting up atechnology firm in Vietnam, namely competitive labour costs; a stable economyand quality labour force consisting of good education, intelligence and adigital vision. However, it also said the lack of IT human resources was stillthe biggest challenge for technology firms.
Interms of salary, employers said experienced IT staff have been paid at a higherlevel compared to experienced staff in other industries. Those with experienceare paid 701-1000 USD per month while those in other industries were only paidbetween 251 USD and 700 USD per month.
Thereport also said the skills needed in IT in the next five years includedcustomer-focus product development, digital transformation thinking and complexproblem solving.
GeneralDirector of Navigos Group Vietnam Gaku Echizenya said the report was based onan analysis of a survey between candidates and employers in technologybusinesses in the country.
GakuEchizenya said: “The demand for high technology has been acknowledged by manysectors and businesses in Vietnam as IT can help a lot in developingapplications to help ease jobs in dangerous situations such as the pandemic.”/.
