Outstanding young faces in Vietnam honoured for 2021

Ten outstanding young Vietnamese and nine promising young talents in 2021 were honoured at a ceremony held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee. The Vietnam Young Talent Fund held the same in Hanoi on March 26 with the participation of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Hanoi (VNA) – Ten outstanding young Vietnamese and nine promising young talents in 2021 were honoured at a ceremony held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee. The Vietnam Young Talent Fund held the same in Hanoi on March 26 with the participation of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The outstanding young people were selected from 138 candidates, including those self-nominated, who showed excellent performance in various areas.

The list of awardees includes Nguyen Le Thao Anh (study category); Dr. Nguyen Trong Hieu (scientific research category); Luu Duc Phong and Ho Xuan Vinh (production); Vu Gia Luyen (business - startup); Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tien Duy (defence); Captain Le Xuan Nam (security and order); Nguyen Huy Hoang (sport); Doctor Do Doan Bach (social activities); Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (culture and art).

Alongside, the jury also selected nine Vietnamese potential young faces in 2021. They are Dong Ngoc Ha, Dao Viet Hang, Truong Thanh Tung, Nguyen Thanh Trung, Luong Van Loi, Vu Ngoc Quynh, Ho Van Y, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha and Nguyen Nguyen Le.

Addressing the event, held on the occasion of the 91st founding anniversary of the HCYU, President Phuc underlined that after 91 years of development, the HCYU has affirmed its role as a socio-political organisation of Vietnamese youth.

The Party and State always trust and pay great attention to youngsters and young talents. The 13th National Party Congress has defined the development of high-quality human resources and the attraction of talents as one of the key and breakthrough solutions, he said, adding that the Youth Law 2020 also clarifies the policies to honour and attract young talents for the national construction and defence.

The State leader hailed the HCYU’s efforts in detecting and nurturing young talents through effective activities, including the Vietnam Outstanding Young Face Award.

He recognised the contributions that winners of the award have made to the nation and community.

Showing his strong confidence in the young generation, the President expressed his belief that more talents will be developed among Vietnamese youth, contributing to national defence and development.

With their strong will, great energy and desire to rise up, youngsters will join efforts by the whole Party, military and people to successfully implement the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution. This will help turn Vietnam into a developed country with high income at the same level as powers across the world, he underlined.

He called on all youngsters and children across the country to be aware of their responsibility towards the nation, and study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral example and lifestyle.

He asked the HCYU Central Committee, the Vietnam Young Talent Fund and Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper to continue to renovate the operations of the fund and the selection of outstanding Vietnamese young faces.

He aslo asked ministries, sectors and localities as well as social organisations, businesses and people to join hands in youth development and promoting young talents for a bright future of the nation.

The young faces were chosen from 20 nominees through secret votes. This year’s winners will each receive a cash prize of 50 million VND (2,190 USD).

The annual Vietnam Outstanding Young Faces Award is presented to 10 youngsters under 35 with excellent performances in their areas over the year.

Over the past 25 years, the “Vietnam Outstanding Young Face Award,” the noblest award by the HCYU Central Committee, has honoured 250 outstanding youngsters in various fields./.
