Noi Bai airport’s domestic terminal to undergo upgrade

 Hanoi (VNA) – Noi Bai International Airport said on July 4 that it willupgrade the domestic terminal (T1) in eight months starting July 11.

Thework is estimated to cost nearly 244 billion VND (10.73 million USD), includingredecorating, upgrading the electricity system, and opening more bus gates.

Itaims to help the domestic terminal increase its annual passenger throughput to15 million by 2018.

Thefacility came into operation in October 2001 with capacity of serving 6 millionpassengers per year.

After an extension in 2013, the capacity hit 9 million, but at the time the terminalhad already welcomed 12.8 million arrivals on a yearly basis.-VNA
