Berlin (VNA) – As of April 9, Germany’s relevantagencies confirmed no Vietnamese citizen among victims in the car crash into acrowd in the western German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Following the incident, which took place in Münster city onApril 7, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed representativebodies of Vietnam in Germany to work closely with local authorities for updatedinformation on the case. Under the direction, if any Vietnamese citizen isreported among the victims, citizen protection will be promptly underway.
On April 7, a mini-bus was driven at high speed into a crowdin the downtown of Münster city, leaving three people dead and more than 30others injured.
Local police said that the driver killed himself with a gun.
According to State Minister of Internal Affairs HerbertReul, the driver is believed to be a German national, 49, who was not anextremist and had mental issue. However, a terrorist attack was not ruled out.Security has been tightened in Münster and other cities.-VNA
