Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand hasfound no signs of Islamic State (IS) militants or evidence of its involvementin recent attacks in the country’s southern region, said Thai Prime MinisterPrayut Chan-o-cha on May 31.
He made the statement during an interviewin regard to IS hiding in southern Thailand and launching attacks in Malaysia.
The official warned people to stay vigilantand support competent agencies to ensure security.
In May, the Thai Defence Ministrydenied that two bombings in southern Pattani province were linked with IS.
Thai authorities have been on highalert due to information of IS militants entering Thailand from Malaysia.-VNA
