The relics include Phra Phutthasihing , aBuddha image dating back to the Sukhothai Kingdom, Phrakaew Witoonamphueng,Phrakaew Namkhang, Phrakaew Kab Morakot, Phrakaew Chantrakand and PhrakaewNamhai.
The statues were restored during the reign of King Rama VII and arebelieved to bring peace and prosperity to the kingdom.
Each New Year period, the statues arerelocated to the Bangkok National Museum for the public to pay their respects.Other provinces across the country also follow the same tradition to mark theauspicious occasion of the arrival of a new year.- NNT/VNA
