Hanoi (VNA) – The four-day calendar New Year holiday and thenine-day lunar New Year (Tet) festival are expected to offer golden chances forthe Vietnamese tourism sector, with the number of holiday-makers booking toursvia travel agents forecast to rise by 30 percent year-on-year.

In recent years, theholidays have been occasions for people to not only reunite with theirrelatives and friends, but also design journeys to relax themselves.

To prepare for theirvacations, many people learnt about New Year tours right from September.According to experienced holiday-makers, when making plans and registeringearly, they will have many choices, while avoiding the “fully booked” state andprice increases during these occasions.

Pham Van Bay, DeputyDirector of Vietravel Hanoi – a leading tour operator in Vietnam, said that thenumber of visitors booking New Year 2019 tours via the company currentlysurpasses 90 percent, while the rate for Tet tours reaches 65-70 percentcompared with the set targets.

Vietravel Hanoipredicts to enjoy a year-on-year growth rate of at least 30 percent during theholidays, Bay stated, adding that it still applies promotion programmes for thoseregistering early, especially for groups of tourists.

Besides traditionaltours, travel agents in the capital city have designed new tours, withattractive schedules and stable prices plus promotion programmes. Tourists areoffered with opportunities to choose tours suitable for their conditions andhabits.

To avoid low-qualitytours, travel agents advise customers to contact with prestigious touroperators and book tours as soon as possible to enjoy the best prices andsuitable schedules.

The upcoming four-dayNew Year holiday will last from December 29, 2018 to January 1, 2019, while theTet festival will fall on February 2-10, 2019.-VNA
