Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s University of TransportTechnology (UTT) and Sapa Thale Company of Germany on May 5 signed an agreementon cooperation in training, human resources development, scientific researchand transport technology transfer.
Under the agreement, UTT and Sapa Thale will work together closely to developsmart traffic solutions, thus improving public transport systems and reducingnegative impacts on the environment in Vietnam.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho saidthe agreement is hoped to offer a great chance for UTT to speed up itsdevelopment and international integration, as well as providing high-qualityhuman resources for the transport sector.
UTT Rector Dao Van Dong said through its cooperative ties with Sapa Thale, hisuniversity expects to expand cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises.
UTT is cooperating with universities and businesses of France, Japan, the US,the Republic of Korea, Singapore, China, Russia and Laos, he stressed, addingthat these cooperative relations have helped the university improve the qualityof training and research activities, and promote application of solutions studiedby UTT.
On this occasion, a new car-hailing service booking app for smart phones called“APPP” was launched. The app was jointly developed by researchers from UTT andSapa Thale with funding provided by the German company.
The app is expected to make it easier for both passengers and drivers to bookcar services and seek customers, meeting the increasing transport demand inVietnam.-VNA
