Hanoi (VNA) - The 13th National Assembly (NA) commenced an unprecedented question-and-answer session on November 16 that sees the presence of all Government members to respond to deputies’ queries regarding their remit.
Prior to the session, which is part of the ongoing 10th sitting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on behalf of the Government delivered a report on the implementation of the NA’s resolutions on specialised supervision and question-and-answer activities since the outset of the 13th tenure in 2011 until present.
Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Nguyen Hoa Binh also presented reports on their sectors’ realisation of those resolutions.
Head of the parliament’s Ombudsman Committee Nguyen Duc Hien submitted a report on outcomes of supervising the settlement of voters’ petitions and proposals given to the NA’s ninth sitting and since the beginning of the 13th tenure.
After hearing the reports, deputies discussed and raised questions on the implementation of the NA resolutions on supervision of thematic issues and Q&A activities since the beginning of the 13th tenure.
Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc earlier told the press that ministers must report clearly on the implementation of NA resolutions and which issues they would not be able to address during their tenure, as well as explain why they could not handle those issues.
He added that after the Q&A session, the NA will issue a resolution for the next tenure to follow up on the implementation of undone tasks in the 13th tenure.
The Q&A session is slated to last two and a half days.
The Prime Minister will have 75 minutes to answer queries on the last day of the session on November 18 morning.-VNA
