Hanoi (VNA) – TheStanding Committee of the 14th National Assembly will review the outcomes ofthe legislature’s fifth meeting and initially discuss preparations for the nextsitting during its 25th session scheduled to open in Hanoi on July 11.
The committee will look into the controversialcontents of draft laws, including the Law on Vietnam’s Coast Guard, the Law on Protectionof State Secrets, and the amended Law on Anti-Corruption.
The full-time legislators arescheduled to debate the settlement of the money that the General Department ofVietnam Customs had taken in advance to implement its personnel reductionpolicy before 2012.
The allocation of investmentssourced from the State budget during the 2016-2020 period, and the use of 15trillion VND (645 million USD) from the standby capital of the mid-terminvestment plan for 2016-2020 for major railway and road projects will also betabled during the session.
Besides, they will scrutinise theimplementation of a number of regulations of the Investment Law, the Law onPublic Investment, and the Law on Environmental Protection regarding theenvironmental impacts of investment projects, along with the Government’s draftdecree on a number of special mechanisms of investment, finance, budget, andmanagement allocation in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.
The lawmakers will also giveopinions on the establishment of Lai Uyen town in Bau Bang district and TanThanh town in Bac Tan Uyen district, in the southern province of Binh Duong;and Dong Loc town in Can Loc district in the central province of Ha Tinh.
The formation of the People’s Courtand the People’s Procuracy of Phu My town in the southern province of BaRia-Vung Tau will also be deliberated on this occasion.-VNA
