Tuyen Quang (VNA) - Marvelous rock structures jut out of Na Hang Lake in the northernprovince of Tuyen Quang, looking like the more famous Ha LongBay.
Tuyen Quang, 130km to the northwest of Hanoi, might never pop up in anytop 10 tourist attraction list in Vietnam, but its spectacular landscapessurprise many visitors. It has many pristine lakes and green mountains,but the 8,000-hectare Na Hang – Lam Binh lake is arguably the most magnificent.
Located in the centreof Na Hang district, more than 100 kilometres from Tuyen Quang city to thenorth, the lake lies at the intersection of the Gam and Nang rivers, surroundedby mountains and looking like a miniature version of Ha Long Bay with itssmall islets.
With more than 8,000hectares of water surface, the lake is surrounded by poetic and majesticlandscapes, making it an attractive tourist attraction for visitors from bothhome and abroad.
Taking aboat trip on the lake at any time of the day, from early dawn to sun set,visitors can breathe in the pure atmosphere and admire the pristine andmysterious beauty.
Blue sky andhundreds of surrounding mountains cast their reflections on the smooth watersurface of the lake, creating a picturesque and tranquil panorama which canleave a strong impression on first-time visitors.
In earlymorning, the lake is shrouded in a thick blanket of fog, the clouds seem tolinger on one side of the mountains, while a flock of white storks hover in thesky, making the landscape look more surreal like the setting of a movie.
When the suncomes out, the scene appears more clearly, with the crystal clear blue sky andmirror-like water surface.
A boat trip on Na Hang Lake, usually lastingfour to five hours, takes visitors through several stops.
Na Hang Lake is theconfluence of Gam and Nang Rivers. The meeting venue of the two rivers is PacTa Mountain, the highest mountain in the district. At the foot of the mountainstands Pac Ta Temple, which worships a concubine of General Tran Nhat Duat fromthe 13th century.
FollowingGam River upstream, visitors can drop by Pac Vang Temple.
Travellerswho love adventurous experiences can take a trek to Mo, Cay Dai and Cay Sungwaterfalls, which are located inside the Na Hang Natural Reserve. Lying amid aremote jungle along the banks of Gam and Nang rivers, the reserve is renownedfor its magnificent caves and a diverse ecosystem with many endangered floraand fauna species.
One of themost spectacular waterfalls in the area is Khuoi Nhi, which is akin to whitesilk across the cliff as it is seen from afar.
There arealso many other fascinating spots to visit including Khuay Sung and Khuay Me Waterfalls, Phia Vai Cave, and Xa Ta Mountain.
Chan, alocal rower said that it might take visitors three or four days to finish afull tour of Na Hang Lake, or they can spend at least four hours to tour thehighlighted attractions around the lake./.
