Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) deputies scrutinised the draft laws on property auction and belief and religion on October 24 as the 14th NA’s second session is taking place in Hanoi.
In the morning, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Economic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh presented a report on explanation of and amendments to the draft law on property auction.
In the following discussion, 20 deputies voiced their viewpoints, focusing on property auction principles and prohibited actions, qualifications for auctioneers, property auction procedures, the handling of violations, and the Ministry of Justice’s responsibility towards the state management of property auction.
Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long also clarified some relevant problems mentioned by parliamentarians.
In the afternoon session, Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children Phan Thanh Binh delivered another report on explanation of and revisions to the draft law on belief and religion.
Twenty-one deputies gave opinions, including ideas on the State’s responsibility to ensuring the right to freedom of belief and religion, prohibited actions, the right to freedom of belief and religion, the registration of religious activities, the legal entity status of religious organisations, conditions for appointing and electing dignitaries, religious activities involving foreigners, and violation settlement.
Later, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan and Chairman Phan Thanh Binh provided more information about some matters that NA deputies were concerned about.
On October 25, NA deputies are set to have another plenum to mull over debatable issues of the draft law on associations.-VNA
