Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar’sparliament has announced to organise the fifth sessions of both houses in thecapital of Nay Pyi Taw on May 18, two months after the fourth sessions ended onMarch 18.
At the upcoming sittings, a number of lawsare expected to be promulgated and parliament representatives chosen in the Aprilby-election will take their oaths.
The April by-election saw the rulingNational League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi, winning a totalof nine out of 19 vacant seats, consisting of five seats in the House ofRepresentatives, three in the House of Nationalities, and one in the Shan stateparliament.
The current parliament was formed throughthe general election in November 2015, with the NLD party winning a landslidevictory.-VNA
