Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – An interim report on the investigation into the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370 jet will be available online on the official MH370 website – www.mh370.gov.my, Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said on March 7.

The report is expected to be released by Chief Investigator Datuk Kok Soo Chon of the Malaysian International Civil Aviation Organisation - Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team for MH370 via a televised broadcast on RTM 1 at 15:00pm (local time) on March 8; two years after the aircraft went missing.

Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members disappeared on March 8, 2014 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Its fate has remained a mystery until today.

According to the transport minister, nearly 90,000 sq km of the 120,000 sq km search area has been covered so far, yielding more than 500 findings. None of these findings has provided any indication of the missing plane thus far, Liow said.

A wing fragment found off the French island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean in July last year was confirmed to be from flight MH370.

Another two pieces of debris that could have come from the missing plane were discovered on Reunion Island and in Mozambique, 2,100 kilometres west of the island early this year. They have been sent to authorities for verification.-VNA
