KualaLumpur (VNA) - The Malaysian government launched the new Securityand Public Order Policy (DKKA) on October 3.
Addressinga ceremony to announce the policy, which is designed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), Malaysian PrimeMinister Mahathir Mohamad said that it will help unite the people and protectthe national interest.
The DKKAcan be a reference for many issues related in security and public order, whilesupplementing the national security policies, especially when Malaysia isfacing complicated security threats.
Home Affairs secretary-general Tan Sri Alwi Ibrahim said the six coreareas of the policy were to uphold the constitutional dignity, the rule of lawand the country’s key institutions; to enhance the governance and integrity ofsecurity enforcement agencies; to strengthen security and border controls; tosecure public safety and security; to combat the abuse of drugs; and to protectthe country’s assets and targets.
The KDNneeds support and collaboration across the ministry and outside the ministry sothat it can have the best impact on security, he said, adding that the DKKA wasnot only the responsibility of the enforcement agency but also ofthe community./.
