Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – A livetelevision programme themed “Song of solidarity” was held on September 1 nightto mark the 50-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament.
The programme took place coincidently at the Hanoi-based President Ho Chi MinhMausoleum, the Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City, the Quoc Hoc-Hue High Schoolfor Gifted Students in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and the Kim Lien relicsite in the central province of Nghe An, which are associated with the life andcareer of the late President.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi KimNgan, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran ThanhMan and other high-ranking officials attended the event.
More than 350 artists performed at the programme which comprised for parts:“Solidarity for national reunification,” “Solidarity for national development,”“Transparency for guarantee of great national unity bloc,” and “Consolidationof great national unity bloc.”
At the Quoc Hoc-Hue High School for Gifted Students where Nguyen Tat Thanh(later President Ho Chi Minh) studied from 1907 to 1908, the programme startedwith a flower offering ceremony at the Nguyen Tat Thanh Monument, with theparticipation of Party leaders, and the school’s teachers and students.
Through the programme, the participants looked back on the path full ofhardships and pride to materialise President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament over thepast half century.
Earlier, PM Phuc and other Party and State leaders visited a house dedicated tothe late President at 112 Mai Thuc Loan Street, Thuan Loc ward, Hue city.-VNA
